Luanda – The geopolitical and strategic
importance of southern Africa region is one of the aspects being
tackled during the ongoing continental tour by the US secretary of
State, Hillary Clinton.
This was said by Angolan specialist in International Relations, Valentino Manuel Calei.
To
Valentino Calei, who is also a university lecturer, when China sought
to win a major action the southern region of Africa, through a well
designed policy, it created what is called "line of risk" to the other
countries, especially the world powers.
He said that
currently there is a tendency for the creation of blocs or groups like
the G-5, G-8, G-20 and, of late, the G-30, being G-8 the most prominent.
The
specialist added that these countries are watchful about the movements
of one another, explaining that a visit of a Russian statesman to
Angola or the cooperation with China would never go unnoticed.
Valentino
Manuel Caley said these elements are very strong and draw the attention
of America’s internal policy, hence the need for the US Government to
create new elements to counter the affirmation of China in Southern
Africa.
The specialist highlighted the fact that the US
official is visiting the best-placed of Africa south of Sahara in
economic, geopolitical, geo-strategic and military terms.
